What is a Warning Area, and where is it located?

Answer

A Warning Area contains activity that may be hazardous to nonparticipating aircraft. It extends from 3 NM outward from the coast of the U.S. and may be located over domestic or international waters. Warning areas are not regulatory — they warn pilots of potential danger but do not prohibit flight.
